Austin's Green 4th of July
Austin's Green 4th of July, began as an offshoot of "The Sustainable Shopper's Ball!" in July of 2007 at
HEB's Central Market. That event featured Austin Green Art's "Green Pursuit of Happiness" conversation
game and was an overwhelming success.
In 2008, Chris took the concept to the Austin Farmers Market and expanded it to include several speakers,
plus special vendors, patriotic readings, a farmer's olympics, and free green living info, which promoted local
businesses and non-profits.
In 2009, the Austin Farmers Market took over production of the event, re-instating the farmer's olympics and
promoting more local green business and non-profit groups.
